African violet (Saintpaulia ionantha) is one of the easiest to grow houseplants that have low maintenance.

They are native to Eastern Africa and belong to family Gesneriaceae.

African violet can bloom for 10 to 12 months of the year when cared for properly.  

These plants have different leaf variations. Flower color varies from white, pink, maroon, blue, lavender, violet, deep purple.

They are ideal plants for gifts as they stay small. They need very little space and live for many years (if well maintained).

Snake plants, also known as Mother-in-Law’s Tongue and Sansevieria (now included in Dacaena Genus) is native to tropical West Africa from Nigeria east to the Congo and belongs to the family Asparagaceae. It is known for its ability to purify the air and one of the few indoor plants which release oxygen in the night time. As per NASA, Snake plants remove benzene, formaldehyde, trichloroethylene, Xylene, and toluene from the air.

Peperomia (also called Radiator plant) is the genera of the family Piperaceae. Peperomias which have about 1600 species are highly decorative houseplants. They come in several varieties, distinguishable by their leaf variations.

Prayer plant (Maranta leuconeura) is a flowering plant of the family Marantaceae, known for its large underground starchy rhizomes or tubers. It is native to the New World tropics.

The leaves of this plant tend to fold together at night, like a pair of praying hands hence the name ‘Prayer Plant’. Prayer plants are grown as houseplants for their large ornamental leaves, which are variegated in shades of green, white, and pink.

Care for a maidenhair fern plant is easy if you understand its water, light, and soil requirements. They naturally grow in bright and humid conditions and prefer the same conditions.
